Last Iceberg / Hand signed print

Scoresbysund, Greenland 2023

During my Greenland workshop in Scoresbysund in the summer of 2023, we spent ten days navigating the expansive fjord system, surrounded by colossal icebergs, towering mountain landscapes, and elusive wildlife. On the fifth day, deep within the fjords, we encountered this towering iceberg adrift near the rugged mountains. As we approached, something yellow caught our eye in the corner.

"Polar bear!" our captain exclaimed as we moved closer. This lone bear had ventured farther into the fjord than usual, exploring the isolated ice in search of seals. Greenland’s polar bears are known to traverse vast distances in pursuit of food, yet the challenges posed by climate change and diminishing sea ice make their survival journey increasingly arduous.
